Classic Mini DIY Guides - Make Your Own Under Seat Speaker Board

If you have a guide you would like to submit, please send it to guides @ miniprojects .co. uk

Want one of those super-fly under-seat speaker boards but don't wanna pay full-whack for it? Why not make your own?

This one is made from MDF (medium density fibreboard) which has good acoustic properties, is cheap, and is easy to work with. However the dust it gives off isn't especially good for your lungs so you should wear a dust mask when cutting and filing it.

You'll obviously need to make up some brackets to fix the board into the car. Most people will probably want to cover the board in acoustic carpet or vinyl to match their interior, but MDF can can be painted if you prime it correctly to prevent the paint from soaking into it too much.
